The Spelling Test

I studied every word except “necessary.”
Of course, “necessary” was on the test.
I wrote “nesesary,” then “neccessary,” then something with seven s’s.
My teacher drew a smile beside it and wrote, “We’ll keep trying.”
That sentence was easier to spell.
