The Purple Door

Every house on our street had a brown door except number seventeen.

Its door was purple.

People said a witch lived there. One afternoon, I knocked.

An old woman opened the door and handed me a biscuit.

She was not a witch.

The biscuit, however, made me float three centimetres above the pavement.
