Rain

by Ash

As the dreary sky rolls past my window,

I ponder the meaning of life.

Listening to the rain's pitter patter,

I think of a world without strife.

I watch the water pool in the streets,

Blocking the way of the cars and passerbys.

Large raindrops splash on glass panes,

As the sun's light slowly dies.

Shadows are cast on lightening clouds,

The sky running out of tears.

I turn away from my window,

Retreating with pacified fears.

I know tomorrow the sun will rise,

And it will be a lighter day.

But somehow I still worry,

That everything won't be okay.
