Pulling Tarps
by Sristi Guduru
Pulling tarps requires three:
Two to pull,
One to set it free.
The two in the water mustn't drown
Kick and splash, hold the tarp high,
Avoid being caught under.
The one on the ground with the heavy hand
Must yell at the two to hurry along,
Though his grip slows the tarp’s release.
It requires three,
Though the third’s use is hard to see.
Still, it’s merry, really,
For pulling tarps, as hard as can be,
Is a bonding experience as much as a tragedy.
