My Grandfather’s Coat

Grandfather’s coat hangs by the door, though he no longer wears it.

The sleeves are too long for me. The pockets contain a coin, a bus ticket, and a peppermint wrapper.

My mother wants to give it away.

I ask her to wait until winter ends.
